Responsible play.
Keep it in perspective.
Your time, money and wellbeing matter more than any game. Choose limits before you start, and give yourself permission to stop.
Check age and local eligibility
You must be at least 18 to participate in games involving money, and meet any higher age limit or other requirement that applies to you. Being an adult does not by itself make participation lawful. Check current local restrictions and the app’s eligibility terms before participating.
Do not let a child use your account or payment method. Use device access controls and keep sign-in information private.
Set limits before opening a game
- Set a time to stop. Use a timer and take breaks away from the screen.
- If money is involved, decide what you can afford to lose. Keep essential spending, savings and borrowed money out of play.
- Avoid playing when distressed or impaired. Decisions become harder when you are trying to escape a problem.
- Do not chase losses. A previous loss does not create a right to a future win.
Notice when play is becoming a problem
Pause if you are spending more than intended, hiding your play, borrowing to continue, neglecting work or relationships, or repeatedly failing to stop at your own limit. Games should not be treated as a source of income or a way to repair financial difficulties.
Make it easier to take a break
Close the app and step away from the device. Turn off promotional notifications and remove easy payment access where appropriate. If the app offers account limits, a cooling-off period, self-exclusion or account closure, use its verified controls or support process.
Set account restrictions in the app or through its verified support process. If the controls are unavailable or unclear, pause play while you ask for help.
Talk to someone
Tell someone you trust what is happening. A qualified local health professional or a recognised local support service can help you assess your options. If there is immediate danger to you or someone else, contact your local emergency service.
You do not need to wait for a financial crisis to ask for support. Taking a break is a valid decision at any time.
